Johnny Manziel Says He Will Play in CFL If He's Unable to Land NFL Contract
Former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel said during Texas A&M's pro day Tuesday he would play in the CFL if he didn't have a chance to play in the NFL, according to Taylor Bisciotti of the NFL Network.
Manziel, who also threw at the University of San Diego's pro day, said his session with the Aggies would be his last:

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Manziel was the No. 22 overall pick by the Cleveland Browns in the 2014 draft but lasted just two seasons in the NFL, as a partying lifestyle and legal issues ended his career prematurely.
But Manziel has since gotten sober, married and been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, as he told Bruce Feldman of The MMQB after San Diego's pro day, and is now trying to maintain a positive and healthy routine:
"I told people [after the USD pro day], I can sit here and talk to you guys all day. I'm a great talker. I have media savvy. I can do an interview like I'm not worried if I get into tight spots but the thing is, I can talk 'til I'm blue in the face about how I'm a different person but here's what happens: I do this for two months, I do this for three months, I do this for six months and then something always sets me back. So until I have a year under my belt of me being better—and now I have three months of really positive traction going around every aspect of my life—my main key is consistency, consistency, consistency with my regimen."
It's unclear if an NFL team will give Manziel another chance. He wasn't effective on the field during his two-year Browns run, accumulating 1,675 passing yards, seven touchdowns, seven interceptions, 259 rushing yards and a rushing score. He also completed just 57 percent of his passes.
If not, Manziel is prepared to try his hand in the CFL. He flirted with the league during his comeback attempt and appeared close to joining the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, though the team didn't come to terms with him before a Jan. 31 deadline established by Manziel's agent.
Previous reports indicated the team offered him a two-year contract in January, though that was as much about extending negotiation rights with Manziel for the next year as anything. But if Manziel goes the CFL route, it will be with the Tiger-Cats.
