Miami Open Masters 2018 Results: Scores, Bracket and Schedule After Sunday

Several of the top names at the Miami Open have already been eliminated, but the competition continues to remain strong.

Top seeds Roger Federer and Simona Halep already suffered losses in this Masters event, while even Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams made early exits. Still, Sunday's matches featured plenty of top players in both the men's and women's draws hoping to make a deep run this week.

Here is a look at the latest results out of the Tennis Center at Crandon Park.

Men's Draw

Kei Nishikori was ranked No. 4 in the world at this time last year, but Juan Martin del Potro made him look like an amateur with a straight-sets win in Miami.

Del Potro needed an hour and 12 minutes to knock out Nishikori, winning all but four games in the match. He won 77 percent of his first serves and 77 percent of his second serves, and the consistency made it nearly impossible for his opponent to keep up.

The No. 5 seed wasn't broken the entire match and will move on to face Filip Krajinovic, who defeated Benoit Paire earlier in the day.

No. 2 Marin Cilic didn't have as easy of a time Sunday in his match against Vasek Pospisil. Neither player would give in, saving a combined 12 of 13 break points in a back-and-forth battle.

However, Pospisil was the one broken in the first set, while the second set came down to a tiebreak. Cilic simply came through with the bigger points to survive and advance.

Grigor Dimitrov wasn't quite as fortunate as the No. 3 seed suffered a straight-set loss to Jeremy Chardy.

Chardy won 88 percent of first-serve points and saved his only break point to earn his third straight win in Miami without dropping a set. Dimitrov had suffered three straight losses coming into this tournament and has made an early exit once again after just one win.

Meanwhile, the Americans haven't been performing as well as they could on the home court. Michael Mmoh had an impressive run with two wins, but it ended with a 6-1, 6-1 loss to Hyeon Chung. Jared Donaldson also fell after failing to close out Joao Sousa.

John Isner at least helped the cause with a third-round win over Mikhail Youzhny, but the overall start hasn't been great.

Although Serena Williams has struggled in her return to the court, her sister Venus Williams continues to play at a high level.

Williams is into the round of 16 after a hard-fought victory over Kiki Bertens that lasted three sets. As Jose Morgado of Record Portugal noted, she survived several close calls to earn a come-from-behind win:

Bertens had eight aces compared to just one from Williams, but it wasn't enough to close out the victory.

Meanwhile, another battle between seeded players wasn't nearly as close.

Johanna Konta dominated Elise Mertens in the third-round matchup, dropping only three total games. The defending champion won 71 percent of all service points compared to just 45 percent from her opponent, who especially struggled with her second serve.

She will now take on Williams for a chance to reach the quarterfinals.

The last big matchup of seeded players featured a slow start from No. 4 Elina Svitolina, who dropped her first set against No. 26 Daria Gavrilova. Fortunately, she got back on track with two easy set wins, losing only one more game the entire match.

Svitolina had one ace in the match, coming on the final point:

Ashleigh Barty also had little trouble with her match, needing only two sets to advance past Petra Martic. The No. 22 seed wasn't as sharp as we have seen her in the past with missed serves and unforced errors, but her play was more than enough to keep her tournament hopes alive.
