Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau is known for his fiery demeanor on the sideline, and Timberwolves forward Taj Gibson posited Thibodeau might want to dial things back a bit for his own health.

"I worry about Thibs. I worry about Thibs all the time," Gibson said Tuesday, per Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune. "I worry about him having a stroke or something crazy because he's so into the game."

Gibson's comments came a day after Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue took an indefinite leave of absence to deal with health issues.

"I have had chest pains and other troubling symptoms, compounded by a loss of sleep, throughout the year," Lue said in a statement Monday. "Despite a battery of tests, there have been no conclusions as to what the exact issue is."

Charlotte Hornets head coach Steve Clifford also missed 21 games earlier this season to resolve a sleep deprivation problem that had been leading to severe headaches. In addition, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has battled back problems that forced him to take time off in the past.

Thibodeau did take a yearlong coaching break following his departure from the Chicago Bulls at the end of the 2014-15 season. In December 2016, he told reporters the brief hiatus was beneficial in many ways.

"The thing that year allowed me to do was to recharge, learn, reflect," he said. "When you're in that type of setting when you don't have a team, you have a much broader view of everything."

Now that he's back in the league, however, the 60-year-old Thibodeau doesn't appear likely to tone down his on-court style anytime soon.
