NFL Power Rankings Week 13: Division Standings, Latest 2017-18 Super Bowl Odds
After a wild week that featured three games Thursday and a barrage of monster matchups Sunday, the NFL hierarchy reset itself a bit as teams begin the playoff crunch.
While a team like the Kansas City Chiefs continuing a downward spiral didn't come as too much of a surprise, most didn't know what to expect from big showdowns such as the one between the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Rams.
In the aftermath, though, the playoff picture is a little clearer, and so is what to expect from teams as they head into the final month or so of the season.

Sleeper to Know: Los Angeles Chargers (33-1)

The savvy bettors aren't sleeping on the Los Angeles Chargers anymore.
Philip Rivers has his team riding one of the hottest streaks in football after starting the season 0-4. Since, the Chargers have won five of seven, with the only losses over the stretch coming via road games against New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars, a pair of teams quite high in the power rankings.
The latest success came Thursday on the road against the Dallas Cowboys, where Rivers made a mockery of the defense while throwing for 434 yards and three touchdowns.
To say Rivers looked great is an understatement:
Given the recent streak, the Chargers look like a team that could steal the AFC West outright. Both the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders look miserable, and the Chiefs haven't been able to pull it together at all.
The Chargers, on the other hand, have Rivers throwing for 20 touchdowns and seven interceptions, while his defense has tallied 32 sacks, snagged 14 interceptions and held seven opponents in a row to 24 points or less.
The schedule the rest of the way isn't too tough either, not with games against the Cleveland Browns and Washington, not to mention struggling Kansas City, New York Jets and Oakland teams. With the way Rivers and his defense are playing, they make for a fun underdog to consider.
Abandon Ship: Kansas City Chiefs (33-1)
Let's talk about those Chiefs.
Funnily enough, the Chiefs started the season in the same position the Chargers currently reside. After whipping New England in Foxborough to start the year and winning five straight outright, they looked like one of the best underdog bets for those who scooped them up over the first few weeks.
Now it's time to flee.
Since the five-game tear, the Chiefs have won all of a single game. They've come up lame against contenders like the Pittsburgh Steelers and struggling teams like Dallas. They even went down in overtime to the miserable New York Giants.
Most recently, the Chiefs welcomed the so-so Buffalo Bills to town and took a 16-10 loss as Alex Smith threw for a touchdown and interception while his running game managed 2.9 yards per carry.
"Certainly frustrated, for sure," Smith said, according to ESPN.com's Adam Teicher. "A little shock there, no doubt. Felt like we were going to bounce back, come back and get into rhythm on offense. Certainly from the get-go, we didn’t do that."
The offense as a whole is ineffective now that teams have figured out rookie back Kareem Hunt and forced Smith to beat them with his arm. Smith's defense can only do so much while missing big names such as Eric Berry.
At this point, the Chiefs might decide to go the developmental route and bench Smith. The team hasn't even come close to looking like the one that started the season so hot, meaning even this interesting payout in a bad division shouldn't have bettors interested anymore.
Contender Worth a Look: Los Angeles Rams (14-1)
The Rams emerged the winner of the duel with the Saints, 26-20.
Home game or not, the Rams looked good while limiting Drew Brees to 246 yards and one passing score. Jared Goff for the Rams diced up the Saints for 354 yards with two touchdowns against one interception despite taking four sacks.
Goff is one of the biggest reasons for the turnaround, as he looks like a completely different player compared to the guy who seemed to be a bust just a year ago. He's now sitting on 18 touchdowns against five interceptions and has turned it on even more in recent weeks, per NFL Research:
A year of development, a change at head coach and additions in the trenches such as Andrew Whitworth can clearly work wonders for a young quarterback like Goff.
The Rams now have notable wins over Dallas, Jacksonville, the Houston Texans and New Orleans while playing a team like the Seattle Seahawks close. Goff and Co. are still in command of the NFC West and have another game against Seattle on the schedule, not to mention what should be easy games against teams like the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers.
Unlike Kansas City, these Rams have remained consistent in their play throughout the course of the year and are a smart buy before the possible payout here shrinks even further.
