Insult to Injury: Pummeled Bears Still in Philly Due to Mechanical Issues
Steve SilvermanJun 16, 2018
The Chicago Bears were overmatched as they went into Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to challenge the streaking Philadelphia Eagles.
Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz was razor-sharp while throwing for three touchdowns, and Philly handed the Bears a 31-3 defeat.
After the loss, the Bears headed to the airport to fly back to Chicago. However, mechanical problems with their aircraft caused them to get stuck on the tarmac for hours. They didn't transfer to a new plane until shortly before 10 p.m. ET, according to Derrick Gunn of NBC Sports Philadelphia.
After a long day on the field, the Bears are enduring an even longer evening at the airport.
