76ers' Joel Embiid Has Career Night in Win over Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers probably Trust the Process following Wednesday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers at Staples Center.
Philadelphia big man Joel Embiid posted career highs in points (46), assists (7) and blocks (7), and he added 15 rebounds in the Sixers' 115-109 victory over the Lakers.
The second-year pro produced one of the best performances of the 2017-18 NBA season to date in front of a national audience. Perhaps most impressive was the fancy footwork Embiid displayed throughout the second half.
The Sixers center dropped a slick Eurostep on the overmatched Los Angeles defense early into the second half, and he generated memories of NBA legend Hakeem Olajuwon's "Dream Shake" with around four minutes left in the contest.
Embiid celebrated his memorable performance with an Instagram post teasing Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball and his loquacious father, LaVar. (Note the location tag.)
Considering he's just 23 years old and has only played in 42 games, it's not a stretch to say Embiid is still "processing." That's a scary thought for opposition around the NBA.
