Tyrann Mathieu Voices Support for QB Blaine Gabbert Ahead of Game vs. Texans

Arizona Cardinals backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert may be asked to start ahead of Drew Stanton, who suffered a knee injury during a Week 10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, when the 4-5 Cardinals fly south to face the 3-6 Houston Texans at NRG Stadium this Sunday.

Arizona safety Tyrann Mathieu is doing what he can to bolster Gabbert's confidence.

"He's our quarterback, we believe in him," Mathieu told reporters on Tuesday, per Darren Urban of the club's official website.

"I thought he did a great job in camp. Obviously whenever you play a quarterback that can use their legs, it adds an extra dimension. Hopefully he's ready to go, and we'll be encouraging him and try and give him the confidence he needs to go out and play football."
