MMA Fighter Gets 1st Knockout Win by Sending Opponent to Suplex City
The opening bout of ONE Championship's Legends of the World event at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila on Friday got the card off to a thunderous start.
Xuewen Peng and Phat Soda entered with 0-1 records, but Peng quickly put the first checkmark in his win column with a brutal German suplex.
Brock Lesnar would be proud.
Soda hit the canvas right on the back of his head, and Peng floated over to take his back. Soda went flat while Peng sunk in a rear-naked choke after the emphatic impact of the suplex. The referee stepped in to stop the contest, and it was officially ruled a knockout.
Per Dennis Gasgonia of ABS-CBN Sports, Soda was stretchered out of the cage following the conclusion of the fight.
Peng, a Chinese national wrestling champion, sent a message to the ONE Championship strawweight division with the dominant outing.
