Washington WR Dante Pettis Sets NCAA Record with 9th Career Punt Return TD
Ryan McCrystalNov 4, 2017
Washington Huskies wide receiver Dante Pettis made history on Saturday night when he took a punt to the house in the second quarter against the Oregon Ducks.
The 64-yard score put the 12th-ranked Huskies up 10-3. It also marked the ninth punt return touchdown of Pettis' career, breaking the NCAA record previously held by Texas Tech's Wes Welker and Oklahoma's Antonio Perkins.
It's been a big week for the Pettis family. On Wednesday, Dante's father, Gary, won the 2017 World Series as the Houston Astros' third base coach.
