Timberwolves' Shabazz Muhammad Plans to Legally Change Name to 'Bazz'

Shabazz Muhammad is working on substantially trimming down his name.

According to Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune, the forward's nameplate reads "Bazz" in the Minnesota Timberwolves' locker room. On Friday night, Muhammad said it's because he plans on legally changing his full name to the one shortened word.

He offered a short explanation for his short new name.

"I just like it," he said. "Everybody calls me that anyway."

He's averaging 4.0 points per game this season, so "Bazz" jerseys may not fly off the shelves. At least it's pithier than Metta World Peace.
