Chris Darden, who was a prosecutor during Simpson's murder trial, also commented on the situation during an appearance on the Today show (h/t Erik Ortiz of NBC News): "We have yet to extract from him the punishment that he deserves ... justice ain't killing two people, butchering two people and getting away with it."
Darden called Simpson a "narcissist" and urged him to "admit [his] sins" in relation to the Brown Simpson and Goldman murders as well.
Simpson was acquitted of the murders of Brown Simpson and Goldman in 1995, but he was sentenced to 33 years in prison for taking part in kidnapping and armed robbery in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2007.
With regard to the 2007 incident, Simpson said he was attempting to take back memorabilia that was stolen from him.
The Pro Football Hall of Famer was still found guilty on 12 counts, however he could soon be a free man if the Nevada Parole Board grants him parole at Thursday's hearing.
According to CNN's Paul Vercammen, Simpson could be released as early as Oct. 1 if the parole hearing goes in his favor.
The 70-year-old is currently being held at Lovelock Correctional Center in Lovelock, Nevada.
