Wimbledon 2017: Marin Cilic, Roger Federer Advance to Final
Roger Federer and Marin Cilic will meet in the final at Wimbledon 2017 after each prevailed in the last four on Friday.
Federer defeated Tomas Berdych in straight sets, and Cilic beat Sam Querrey on Centre Court.
The Swiss superstar advanced 7-6 (4), 7-6 (4), 6-4, with Berdych testing the iconic player who is chasing his eighth title at the All England Club.
Cilic edged out Querrey in a feisty encounter, winning 6-7 (6), 6-4, 7-6 (3), 7-5.
Recap

Federer remains a man with no boundaries, producing his best to defeat Berdych.
The opening two sets went to tiebreak situations after both men remained composed on their service games.
Federer claimed the opening two sets 7-4 at the tiebreak, but Berdych stayed competitive into the third.
The margins were slim with Federer's forehand controlling territory, but the Swiss star had to wait until the seventh game to break the 31-year-old. Berdych's challenge evaporated at that point, and Federer claimed his spot in Sunday's final against Cilic.

Against Cilic, Querrey excited the crowd as he won a first-set tiebreak, but his opponent took control from there.
The Croatian broke serve to make it 4-3 in the second, and Querrey could not return the favour.
Both men lost their serves early in the third, forcing the pair to tighten their defences. The set went to yet another tiebreak, but this time it was Cilic who watched his opponent make unforced errors.

Cilic had the wind in his sails in the fourth and final set, and the American appeared fatigued as he battled his way to the finish.
The former U.S. Open champion secured the victory, putting away Querrey in the last game to win 7-5.
Cilic's huge serve was a major factor in the encounter, as he smashed 25 aces.
Wimbledon highlighted Cilic's success:
Cilic has been exceptional on grass in recent weeks, and his performances have rightfully earned him a place in the title game against Federer.
However, Federer remains the outright favourite, and an eighth crown is expected on Centre Court.
Cilic's power game would worry Federer in normal circumstances, but the legend is in fabulous shape after a recent break from tennis.
Tactically, he has no equal, and his ground work has improved after recovering from injury.
