Wimbledon 2017 Results: Thursday Winners, Scores, Stats and Singles Draw Update
Venus Williams and Garbine Muguruza booked their tickets for the 2017 Wimbledon women's singles final with relative ease on Thursday, beating Johanna Konta and Magdalena Rybarikova, respectively, in straight sets.
Williams lost just six games in her match, while Muguruza did even better, dropping just two. For a look at the full stats, scores and the draw, visit Tennis.com.
As shared by Ben Rothenberg of the New York Times, the 37-year-old Williams turned back the clock with a wonderful performance:
The veteran did enough with her serve to keep Konta guessing, even if consistency was an issue. Where she really made the difference was in the rallies, however, forcing her opponent into plenty of unforced errors with power.
Efficiency was also key―the American star made the most of her break chances, whereas Konta, who only mustered a few, fell short every single time.

Muguruza was just as efficient on Thursday, however, barely giving Rybarikova a chance to show her talents. The Spanish star was nearly flawless on serve and dominated from the baseline.
She did a fantastic job stepping into her returns, a tactic she'll likely use against Williams as well.
As shared by Record's Jose Morgado, she already has plenty of experience with the Williams family in Grand Slam finals:
Muguruza has been in fine form since her shock loss at Eastbourne against Barbora Strycova, courtesy of a few tactical tweaks. She's been far more aggressive at the net, and it will be interesting to see whether she can find success in that area against Williams.
The latter has been great with passing shots so far, and her raw power in the rallies often prevents opponents from advancing up the court in the first place.
