Murray and Nadal Stride Forward

Murray had to fight tooth and nail as he beat an aggressive Fognini on Friday night.
In what became one of the matches of the tournament so far, the Brit easily won the opening set 6-2, outclassing his opponent with an acute power game.
However, Fognini proved his reputation as a fearsome competitor, and he broke Murray twice to hit back and equal the score at a set apiece.
Murray wasn't moving at his best, often hobbling between games as he tended to a recent hip injury.

Fognini was also suffering with a knock that slowed down his rampant effort, and Murray took control in the third, winning the set 6-1.
The final set saw the Italian pick up the pace again, breaking the reigning champion in the sixth game, but Murray produced a wonderful finish in the final four games to blow away his opponent in typical fashion. Murray produced 15 aces as he frustrated Fognini during his service games late in the match.
Nadal proved why he has been in such great form this season after he dumped Khachanov out of the tournament in straight sets.

The Russian youngster came into the match with a growing reputation, but the Spaniard damaged his morale by winning the opening four games of the first.
Nadal took the set and began to deconstruct the Russian in the second, placing himself on the brink of victory. However, Khachanov found a way to break his opponent, forcing the third set to go all the way to a tie-break.
Nadal showed no mercy in the final points, winning the final set 7-6 (3), producing just a single double-fault on his way to the win.
