Day 1 Recap
The seeds were in imperious form as Queen's opened for its annual pre-Wimbledon grass-court tournament in London.
Tsonga has proven his excellence on the surface before, and he made short work of Mannarino in a straight-sets victory.
The Frenchman skipped to a 6-2, 6-2 win and takes his place in the next round.
Tsonga collected the victory in just over an hour during scorching-hot weather conditions in the capital city.

According to the ATP World Tour website, the 32-year-old was delighted with his work after disappointment at the French Open.
"For me it was really important to have a victory," said Tsonga. "On clay it was difficult. So it's good to be back and be able to play second round in Queen's. I took some time off, and I practised a lot. I had the good sense to have a grass court at my house, so I just practised and prepare this grass season, which is a good surface for me. Hopefully I will be able to do something good."
Dimitrov replicated Tsonga's work with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Harrison.
The Bulgarian dominated during his service games, stopping the American in his tracks as he won 88 per cent on his first serve.
Berdych was equally impressive in his encounter, and he will once again be a force on grass at Wimbledon.
The experienced player defeated Steve Darcis, 7-5, 6-3, and progresses to the next round.
