The Doctor Chris MuellerJun 4, 2017

The Extreme Rules pay-per-view used to be one of the most anticipated events of the year because every match was supposed to have a dangerous stipulation. WWE has watered the concept down in recent years, but the show still has the potential to be a lot of fun.

Let's take a look at what we know about Sunday's event.

Other Extreme Rules Thoughts

The Universal Championship is absent for yet another Raw PPV, but the main event for Extreme Rules promises to deliver some great action.

Putting five guys like Reigns, Balor, Rollins, Joe and Wyatt in the same ring is guaranteed to lead to lots of high-flying moves and high-impact strikes.

The closest thing to a match worthy of the Extreme Rules name is the tag title bout between The Hardy Boyz and the team of Sheamus and Cesaro inside a steel cage.

Sure, Bayley and Bliss will have a kendo stick to beat each other up with, but they have to get it off the pole first, so the majority of the match will be them struggling to retrieve it.

Neville and Aries have been putting on great performances every time they get in the ring together, so it's hard to imagine them doing anything less than stealing the show on Sunday.

WWE will likely add at least one bout to the card since six matches is light for a PPV. Another chapter in the mystery of who keeps attacking Enzo Amore could also fill in for an in-ring contest.

Make sure to come back to Bleacher Report on Sunday for live coverage of all the Extreme Rules action and the best pre- and post-show analysis from B/R's incredible WWE writing team.
