New Day's Long-Term Booking Options After WWE SmackDown Live Debut
How much The New Day invigorates WWE SmackDown depends on who the group faces.
With the right foils, the colorful, gyrating squad can be a centerpiece of the blue brand. A lack of worthy opposition was a recurrent issue for them while on the Raw roster.
WWE has a second chance with Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and Big E, now that they have moved to a new ecosystem.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
The New Day arrived on the SmackDown stage on Tuesday night and immediately raised the temperature of the tag team division. After confronting The Usos, the group challenged the champs to a title bout.
And just like that, The Usos snagged their challengers for the Money in the Bank pay-per-view on June 18.
Battling Jimmy and Jey Uso should be step one of the plan for The New Day on SmackDown. Championship gold, absurdity and a full-tilt clash with former NXT tag champs should be on the agenda, too.
Reclaiming the Gold
The Usos will make excellent rivals for The New Day.
Their first confrontation showed us a glimpse of what their feud will look like. The New Day goofed around with the heels, but the champs' coldness forced them to get serious, as well.
In recent weeks, The Usos have come off as especially dangerous. They go after their opponents' limbs a la The Revival. They bare their fangs as they threaten the competition.
Their dynamic with The New Day promises to be an intriguing one. The high-flying brothers and SmackDown's newest addition will produce fast-paced, high-energy matches, too.
WWE would be wise to give fans a number of collisions between these teams and have The New Day emerge with the SmackDown Tag Team Championship in hand.
As champs, The New Day can be the heart of the tag division as they were on Raw. And fresh faces chasing them down for the gold will be good theater.
A Cavalcade of the Bizarre
Despite both groups being babyfaces, Breezango vs. The New Day must happen.
That combination of characters is too enticing to ignore. Two out-there acts meeting up would be tons of fun.
In fact, it's the feud many were hoping to see rather than The New Day vs. The Usos. Count Ryan Fogarty of Top Rope Press among that group:
Breezango has caught the crowd's attention of late as the blue brand's resident fashion police. Fandango and The King of Cuteville have turned up the silliness in their Fashion Files segments, dressing up in dollar-store disguises and firing off puns.
Their exuberance is reminiscent of The New Day's prime.
The promos between these two teams would be gold. Breezango can bash The New Day's technicolor outfits. The New Day can point out the dancer and the model's ridiculousness. And creativity will be king throughout.
If WWE lets them go wild, Breezango vs. The New Day will be an unforgettable ride.
Elevating Alpha
Eventually, it makes sense for The New Day to drop the titles to American Alpha.
Chad Gable and Jason Jordan began their SmackDown tenure as the red-hot new arrivals. WWE has since pushed the pair to the background.
Chair Shot Reality host Josh Isenberg asked a pertinent question:
American Alpha has been absent for weeks and a non-factor for too long. WWE waited too long to dive into their feud with The Usos. And after the suplex specialists dropped the tag titles, the company has made them a low priority.
Gable and Jordan, though, have massive potential.

They're young, energetic and have hooked the crowd when allowed to catch fire. They would turn out some thrillers against The New Day.
And taking down a team with the pedigree of Woods, Kingston and Big E would be huge for American Alpha.
WWE could either have Gable and Jordan turn heel en route to the gold or do a babyface-versus-babyface rivalry that ends with The New Day showing the new champs big-time respect. Either way, SmackDown will benefit from great action and elevate an up-and-coming team in the process.
If The New Day square off against the likes of The Ascension and The Colons instead, WWE will be missing the boat with the ice cream-loving alliance.
