Samoa Joe vs. Brock Lesnar Title Match Set After WWE Extreme Rules 2017 Win
Samoa Joe won a Fatal 5-Way match Sunday at Extreme Rules to become No. 1 contender for Brock Lesnar's Universal Championship.
Finn Balor appeared to have the match won after hitting Roman Reigns with the Coup de Grace. But before Balor could secure the pinfall, Joe locked in the Coquina Clutch on Balor.
Unable to reach the ring ropes to force a break, Balor passed out, and the referee called for the bell. WWE Universe showed the aftermath of Joe's win:

WhatCulture's Adam Pacitti and WWE Creative Humor are looking forward to Lesnar vs. Joe:
Several weeks ago after it was announced that potential title contender Braun Strowman was out of action due to an elbow injury, Raw general manager Kurt Angle set out to clear up the Universal Championship picture.
In order to do so, he booked a Fatal 5-Way pitting Reigns, Seth Rollins, Balor, Joe and Bray Wyatt against each other with a title opportunity at Great Balls of Fire on the line.
During the build toward Extreme Rules, the five participants mixed it up on several occasions through a number of different combinations.
On the go-home episode of Raw, Balor, Joe and Wyatt did battle in a Triple Threat match that served as a scaled-down preview of the pay-per-view match.
Balor seemed destined to prevail, but the Samoan Submission Machine stole the win and expressed a great deal of confidence in his chances at Extreme Rules after the bout, according to WWE's official Twitter account:
The main event of Raw saw former Shield brothers Reigns and Rollins renew their rivalry in a hard-hitting, back-and-forth encounter.
Following a hard-fought victory by The Big Dog, he reiterated his assertion that he is still the alpha male in WWE:
While Reigns' resume is undeniable, few have managed to best The Beast Incarnate over the years, and it can be argued that there is no more dangerous and dominant Superstar than Lesnar.
Although he struggled to get past Goldberg, Lesnar finally conquered his demons to become universal champion at WrestleMania 33, which gives him a great deal of momentum entering Great Balls of Fire on July 9.
From a physical perspective, none of the Superstars in the Fatal 5-Way present a bigger challenge to Lesnar than Samoa Joe.
Joe is as tough as they come with the ability to strike and grapple with the best of them. While this represents his first chance to become a champion in WWE, he is a well-traveled veteran who isn't likely to be intimidated by The Beast.
