Myles Garrett's Mom Asks If Warren Sapp Is Still Relevant After Criticism of Son
Hall of Fame defensive lineman Warren Sapp has made critical comments regarding potential No. 1 overall NFL draft pick Myles Garrett, and the Texas A&M defensive end's mother fired back at Sapp on Thursday.
According to USA Today's Luke Easterling, Garrett's mother said, "Is he still relevant?" when Garrett was asked about Sapp during a Facebook Live Q&A.
Per ESPN.com's Adam Schefter, Sapp expressed his belief Sunday that Garrett isn't deserving of the top pick.

Sapp asserted that Garrett didn't perform at a high level consistently enough to warrant No. 1 honors:
"I don't see it from this kid. I see the splash plays; everybody gets those. Where's the game he took over? Where? Any defensive lineman who's the No. 1 pick, you turn up and you say, 'There it is!' This kid, no, I don't. I'm a pretty plain and frank guy, and I watch the tape and he disappears. I watch the tape, and he absolutely disappears.
"
The seven-time Pro Bowler also questioned Garrett's work ethic: "I see a lazy kid that makes four plays a game. This is the No. 1 guy? No, no, no. This ain't even close."
Schefter reported Wednesday that Garrett and North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky are under consideration by the Cleveland Browns at No. 1 overall and that Trubisky is potentially nudging ahead in the race.
In three seasons at Texas A&M, Garrett registered 31 sacks and 47 tackles for loss.
Bleacher Report's Matt Miller projected Garrett to be taken No. 1 overall by the Browns in his final mock draft released Thursday. Miller also listed Garrett as the top overall player on his final big board.
