Following a clutch three-pointer by Kentucky standout Malik Monk, North Carolina had 7.2 seconds to avoid overtime in a captivating Elite Eight matchup.

The game featured two college basketball behemoths, but an unlikely hero emerged.

Sophomore Luke Maye, the Tar Heels' eighth-leading scorer with 5.8 points per contest, registered the two most important points of his collegiate career. The forward caught Theo Pinson's pass and drained a game-winning jumper with 0.3 seconds remaining.    

Maye's heroics sent North Carolina to its second straight Final Four with a 75-73 victory.
