Florida's Canyon Barry Sinks Underhanded Free Throws vs. Eastern Tennessee State
Andrew GouldMar 16, 2017
The NCAA tournament presented a national stage for Canyon Barry to showcase his family's vintage free-throw technique.
Like his father, Hall of Famer Rick Barry, the Gators senior shoots foul shots underhanded. The technique has worked, as he made 87.8 percent of his attempts this season and set the school record for most consecutive made free throws in mid-February.
A larger audience didn't deter him from shooting granny style against Eastern Tennessee State on Thursday. Using the irregular approach, he converted both opportunities when sent to the line with 12:51 remaining in the first half.
