The 2017 College Basketball Invitational tipped off Wednesday with seven games throughout the night.
The first round was originally set to conclude Wednesday, but inclement weather forced the postponement of the Stony Brook Seawolves' clash with the UIC Flames. The two teams will play Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
College basketball fans still had plenty of action to keep them entertained as the tournament got underway. Below is a brief overview of the results.

Wednesday Recap
Utah Valley 74, Georgia Southern 49
The Utah Valley Wolverines smothered the Georgia Southern Eagles en route to an easy 74-49 win.
Georgia Southern had no answer for the Wolverines defense, shooting 29.3 percent from the floor. The Eagles also missed 23 of their 26 attempts from beyond the arc.
Ike Smith and Tookie Brown entered Wednesday averaging a little over 37 points a game. They combined to shoot 5-of-25 from the floor and score 17 points.
Utah Valley didn't have one standout offensive performer, instead relying on across-the-board production. The bench was especially effective, scoring 32 points as a unit.
Loyola 73, George Mason 58
The Loyola Greyhounds picked up a 73-58 win over the George Mason Patriots to begin their CBI journey.
Four Loyola starters scored in double figures, with Cam Gregory (16 points) setting the pace for the team. Jarred Jones and James Fives chipped in with 14 points apiece.
Otis Livingston II and Jaire Grayer played well but accounted for 62 percent (36 points) of their team's offensive output. Without the rest of their teammates picking up the slack, the Patriots didn't stand a chance against Loyola, which received at least seven points from six different players.
Coastal Carolina 83, Hampton 67
Demario Beck's hot shooting propelled the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers to an 83-67 win over the Hampton Pirates at home.
Beck was a force inside, making 10 of his 13 field-goal attempts to finish with 21 points. He just missed out on a double-double after grabbing nine rebounds.
Jaylen Shaw supplemented Beck's big night with 22 points. Shaw added six rebounds, four assists and two steals to his solid all-around performance.
The victory brings Coastal Carolina's record to .500 for the season (17-17).
George Washington 73, Toledo 69
Nate Navigato had a chance to potentially force overtime late in the second half for the Toledo Rockets against the George Washington Colonials.
After being fouled on a three-point attempt, he sunk all three free throws to bring the Rockets to within two points, 71-69. Toledo then forced a turnover at the other end of the court. Navigato's attempted layup went begging, though, and Tyler Cavanaugh got the rebound for the Colonials.
Cavanaugh's two free throws sealed the win for George Washington. The senior forward was the game's leading scorer (29 points) and posted seven boards for good measure.
UMKC 92, Green Bay 82
Led by senior guard LaVell Boyd, the UMKC Kangaroos caught fire from three-point range as they secured a double-digit 92-82 victory over the Green Bay Phoenix.
Boyd was 5-of-7 from beyond the arc, which helped him score a game-high 28 points. UMKC was 13-of-23 from three-point range as a team, which helped negate a strong offensive night from Green Bay.
The Phoenix shot a healthy 46.9 percent but made only four of their 21 long-range attempts. The performance wasn't entirely surprising, considering Green Bay entered the game tied for 285th in three-point percentage (32.7).
Rice 85, San Francisco 76
The duo of Marcus Evans and Egor Koulechov has carried the Rice Owls for much of the 2016-17 season, and they continued to do so Wednesday night. Evans and Koulechov combined for 45 points as the Owls beat the San Francisco Dons 85-76.
Koulechov also recorded 11 rebounds to earn the double-double.
San Francisco's bench more than carried its weight, with Chase Foster, Jimbo Lull and Ronnie Boyce all scoring in double figures. The reserves needed to step up with the Dons' starting five combining to shoot 11-of-30.
Still, it wasn't enough to keep San Francisco alive in the CBI.
Wyoming 91, Eastern Washington 81
The Wyoming Cowboys thwarted the best efforts of Jacob Wiley and Bogdan Bliznyuk to advance to the CBI quarterfinals following a 91-81 win.
Wiley and Bliznyuk scored 26 and 29 points, respectively, but they couldn't overcome Wyoming's collective effort.
Louis Adams and Hayden Dalton, in particular, answered the call. They came off the bench to have nice games—16 points and five rebounds for Adams, and 18 points and six rebounds for Dalton. Adams' performance will likely have taken the Eastern Washington Eagles by surprise, considering he entered Wednesday averaging 7.3 points and 2.5 rebounds a game.
An updated CBI tournament bracket is available on the event's official website.
