LaVar Ball's Home Burglarized During Sons LaMelo, LiAngelo's Basketball Game

Timothy RappMar 15, 2017

LaVar Ball's family home was burglarized on Tuesday night while his sons, LaMelo and LiAngelo, participated in a televised high school basketball game, according to TMZ Sports.

The family's neighbors heard a loud sound and immediately called police, however, and authorities found a pile of the family's belongings gathered in the center of the house.

Police believe the quick response from people in the neighborhood likely prevented the burglars from making off with the belongings, according to TMZ. The Balls checked the house for any missing items, while police have continued their investigation.

"I wish I was there," Ball told ESPN, per TMZ. "It ain't hard to get in my home...it's hard to get out."

The Balls have become the first family of basketball. Lonzo Ball is a star freshman at UCLA and will likely be a top-three pick in this year's NBA draft, while his younger brother, LaMelo—a sophomore at Chino Hills—scored 92 points in a game earlier this season.

LiAngelo Ball, a senior at Chino Hills, is considered a 3-star recruit by Scout.com and has committed to UCLA for next season.

And the trio's father, LaVar Ball, has certainly kept the family in the news, from telling Josh Peter of USA Today that he wants a packaged shoe deal for his three sons that totals $1 billion to bragging that he could have beaten Michael Jordan in a one-on-one basketball game back in his day.

He also claimed that Lonzo Ball was better than Steph Curry, an NBA champion who is the two-time defending MVP. Suffice to say, the Ball family remained locked in the spotlight this year.
