Baker Mayfield Arrest Video Shows Oklahoma QB Being Tackled After Fleeing Police
The Fayetteville (Arkansas) Police Department released video Friday of Baker Mayfield's February arrest on charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct, fleeing and resisting arrest.
The Tulsa World's Eric Bailey posted the video, which includes NSFW language, on Twitter:
On Feb. 25, ESPN.com's Jake Trotter reported the contents of the initial police report. Mayfield said "he had been trying to break up an altercation" after an officer was "flagged down to take an assault and battery report."
After he was released by police, Mayfield posted an extensive apology on Twitter in which he expressed remorse for his actions:
Mayfield is scheduled to make an appearance in court April 7 stemming from the public intoxication charge, per Trotter.
The Sooners have yet to announce any disciplinary action for the 2016 Heisman Trophy finalist as he gets set to embark on his senior season in Norman, Oklahoma.
