Canada's Denis Shapovalov Smashes Umpire in Face with Ball, Defaults Match
Canada were dumped out of the Davis Cup in ignominy, when teenage star Denis Shapovalov defaulted after smashing a ball into the face of umpire Arnaud Gabas.
Shapovalov was facing Britain's Kyle Edmund in the deciding rubber of the tie in Ottawa, when he angrily fired away a ball that hit the French umpire in the eye.
The match was immediately defaulted, ensuring Britain moved into the quarter-final.

"Luckily he was OK but obviously it's unacceptable behaviour from me," 17-year-old Shapovalov was quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
"I just feel awful for letting my team down, for letting my country down, for acting in a way that I would never want to act."
Shapovalov also said he was "incredibly ashamed and embarrassed" by the incident.
Shapovalov was losing 6-3, 6-4, 2-1 at the time of the incident.
