WWE Roadblock 2016: Booking Decisions That Must Be Made at PPV
For once, the booking decisions WWE has to make on pay-per-view are blatantly obvious at Roadblock: End of the Line this Sunday.
It's the company's last pay-per-view of 2016, and it has to be one that sends Raw into the new year with a bang.
Whereas most of the attention is on the main event when WWE goes to pay-per-view, this Sunday, the big talking points are elsewhere.
The women's, tag and male divisions all have big issues that, if booked correctly, could see Raw become the must-watch show heading into the start of 2017.
Here's a look at the big booking calls the company cannot afford to ignore this Sunday.
Sasha Banks Has to Emerge Victorious
1 of 3There are cases to be made for both Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair leaving Roadblock: End of the Line with the WWE Raw Women's Championship, but in reality, The Boss has to be the one winning on Sunday night.
With the two set to meet in a 30-minute Iron Man match, it promises to be a compelling final chapter in their incredible rivalry.
But although Flair could realistically win and have a championship feud with Bayley, that rivalry would be better served working alongside Banks holding the belt—therefore creating two rivalries of significance in the women's division.
Additionally, Banks deserves it. After having a fairly short reign before losing at Hell in a Cell, now is the time to have her hold the championship right through to WrestleMania.
The New Day Must Drop the Tag Titles
2 of 3At the start of this week, WWE was faced with two major decisions to make in regard to The New Day.
The stable has been one of the best things to happen to WWE in recent years, and having it retain the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships on Monday night, making Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods the longest-reigning tag champs in history, made sense.
Records are there to be broken, but all good things must come to an end.
The time is now right for a change, and that should come this Sunday at Roadblock: End of the Line.
Wednesday's Tribute to the Troops will see a No. 1 contenders' match—Cesaro and Sheamus vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson vs. The Shining Stars vs. The Golden Truth. The winners will get a shot at The New Day on Sunday.
Cesaro and Sheamus or Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson feel like the two teams best equipped to win on Wednesday and move forward to Sunday night.
And whichever team it is, it should take the titles from The New Day before its reign runs on for too long.
It's been a blast, but dropping the belts for the first time in well over a year could turn out to be the best thing to happen in terms of longevity for The New Day.
Triple H Must Show Up and Screw Seth Rollins
3 of 3It's inevitable that Triple H and Seth Rollins will come face-to-face at some point, and there's no reason why they shouldn't collide this Sunday.
Just because Triple H shows up at Roadblock: End of the Line doesn't mean their feud has to start and end before WrestleMania season.
Why not have The Game once again interfere in a Rollins match, costing him the win against Chris Jericho and leading to another confrontation further down the line at the Royal Rumble?
WWE has teased its fans for long enough with this rivalry. It's time to see it come to fruition and have Rollins go after the man who made him the company's top guy for well over a year.
With 2017 just around the corner, this would be a spectacular way to tee it up in regard to The Architect.
