Bleacher Report Writers' Thoughts and Predictions

Like always, the writing team at Bleacher Report has been sharing analysis and predictions all week leading up to Sunday's big event:

Other Survivor Series Thoughts

Survivor Series has been one of WWE's tent pole PPVs for years, but it lost some of its luster once the company began running a special event every month.

In an effort to revitalize the show, WWE has built an event with a brand warfare theme this year. With the exception of Goldberg vs. Lesnar, every match will feature Raw and SmackDown superstars fighting for bragging rights or titles.

Unfortunately, WWE didn't put anything on the line in the traditional elimination matches. Pride is a fine thing to fight for, but fans need more to get invested in the story.

That's why having two titles possibly changing brands creates more interest. The Miz losing the IC title to Zayn and having it move to Raw is one thing, but if Kalisto can defeat Kendrick for the cruiserweight belt, an entire division will move to SmackDown.

While Raw has an extra hour to work with, SmackDown has been the more streamlined show in recent months, so the move may benefit every cruiserweight in the end.

The big showdown between Goldberg and Lesnar is one of those matches we never thought would happen again, but beyond the nostalgia, it's hard to imagine this being a five-star performance.

Lesnar's arsenal isn't as big as it used to be, and Goldberg hasn't wrestled a match in over a decade, so this needs to be all about brutality. If they can tear each other apart convincingly, nobody will care how technically sound either competitor is.

This should be a good show, but it doesn't seem likely the main roster will top some of the things we saw at NXT TakeOver: Toronto on Saturday. Hopefully seeing the developmental brand do so well will light a fire under everyone competing at Survivor Series.
