No. 2 Kentucky thrashed No. 13 Michigan State 69-48 on Tuesday night in the Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden in New York City. 

Malik Monk led all scorers with 23 points on the night.

The freshman drained seven shots from behind the arc to help lift the young Wildcats to a 3-0 start to the season. Isaiah Briscoe also dropped 21 points on the night when the Spartans couldn't generate anything much on offense.

Tom Izzo's new-look squad dropped to 0-2 on the season after dropping a heartbreaker to No. 10 Arizona on Friday night in Hawaii. 

Cassius Winston and Kenny Goins each scored nine points on a night when no Spartan reached double digits.
