Bishop Sankey to Chiefs: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction
Former second-round pick Bishop Sankey is back in the NFL, as the Kansas City Chiefs signed the running back off the New England Patriots' practice squad Tuesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Sankey's agent, Jason Bernstein, confirmed the news on Twitter.
The former University of Washington standout was the No. 54 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft by the Tennessee Titans and was released by the team prior to the start of the 2016 regular season.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Sankey had been part of the New England Patriots' practice squad since shortly after his departure from Tennessee, but injury concerns prompted the Chiefs to nab him.
Chiefs starting running back Spencer Ware left the team's Week 8 win over the Indianapolis Colts with a concussion, per Terez A. Paylor of the Kansas City Star, and his availability for Week 9 is uncertain.
Also, Jamaal Charles is set to visit Dr. James Andrews to get his surgically repaired knee looked at after tearing his ACL last season, according to NFL.com's Kevin Patra.
Charles has been brought along slowly and has just 40 yards rushing and one touchdown on 12 carries in three games this season.
Ware has performed at a Pro Bowl level with 824 total yards and three touchdowns, but Kansas City is at the mercy of the concussion protocol.
Should either Ware or Charles miss time, Charcandrick West will likely see an increased role. He totaled 848 total yards and five touchdowns last season during Charles' absence, so he is capable of stepping up.
There is little to speak of behind him after the Chiefs traded Knile Davis to the Green Bay Packers, however, which is why additional depth was needed in the form of Sankey.
While Sankey never lived up to his potential with the Titans, he has 12 NFL starts to his credit and had 702 total yards as a rookie in 2014.
Sankey likely won't be asked to do a ton unless more injuries strike, but he is a solid insurance policy considering how highly regarded he was just two years ago.
