Power Ranking Top 10 Current WWE Stars' Entrances

The Doctor Chris MuellerOct 20, 2016

It's important to make a good first impression, and when it comes to WWE Superstars, having a strong entrance is key to connecting with the crowd.

The way you come to the ring sets the tone for everything that follows. If you have a boring entrance, the fans are less likely to care about you.

This is what makes pro wrestling so different from other combat sports. When a boxer or MMA fighter comes out, it's almost always the same thing. There's a signature song playing while they enter the arena with their posse.

The men and women of WWE use more pageantry and theatrics when they come out, giving each one of them a unique personality before they ever speak a word into a microphone.

Entrances have evolved a lot over the years thanks to advances in lighting and graphics technology, pyrotechnics, less generic music, and the creativity of those behind the curtain.

This slideshow will look at the 10 coolest entrances in WWE today, with a few honorable mentions thrown in for good measure.

Honorable Mention: Cesaro

1 of 12

Cesaro has had a long journey to get to where he is today, and he still has a lot left to accomplish in his career.

He is one of the best pure wrestlers in the company, and when he was given a new James Bond-inspired entrance, he became one of the coolest.

All it took was a tearaway suit and a background graphic resembling the rifling inside a gun barrel to give The Swiss Superman the look of a suave spy.

Honorable Mention: Bayley

2 of 12

Some people use pyro for their entrances, and some use smoke machines, but for Bayley, wacky, waving, inflatable, arm-flailing tube men were the only choice.

These simple canvas tubes with faces that are used to promote small businesses perfectly complement her upbeat, bubbly personality.

It's hard not to be in a good mood when Bayley makes her way to the ring, and if the WWE Universe continues to support her like it has been, it won't be long before she has the women's title around her waist.

10. T.J. Perkins

3 of 12

T.J. Perkins' entrance during the Cruiserweight Classic was nothing special, but the first night he appeared with the main roster, his entrance created a stir.

The use of video game imagery and music conveyed the youthfulness of his character, and it helped him connect with just about anyone who loves the music in classic video games.

The hyperactive graphics and song match the fighting style Perkins uses and allow him to do a few of his favorite dance moves on the way to the ring.

At a time when most of the biggest stars in the company are in their mid-30s, Perkins can help connect with the younger audience on a different level, and having a cool entrance will make it much easier.

9. Bobby Roode

4 of 12

Bobby Roode's debut at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II was nothing short ofwait for itglorious!

Roode's entrance was as extravagant as it was braggadocious, and it gave us the perfect idea of what his character was supposed to be.

He didn't need any pyro or smoke. His entrance utilizes the old-school method of using spotlights in a unique way and having a song that perfectly matches the gimmick of the wrestler.

Roode was one of the few bright spots in TNA for a long time, giving him the credibility to pull off such a grand entrance and still be taken seriously.

It conjures up memories of the entrances of legends like Ric Flair and Gorgeous George. As soon as the first note of his music hits, you know who is coming through the curtain.

When Roode eventually makes it to the main roster, he will instantly make a big impression on the fans who don't watch NXT and TNA because his entrance has been crafted perfectly to fit his character.

8. Enzo and Cass

5 of 12

Enzo and Cass don't need fireworks to have a good entrance. All they need is a memorable song and a pair of microphones, and they will tear the house down.

Big Cass has proved to be better on the mic than most people originally thought, but it's Enzo Amore who carries the load when it comes to promos.

His ability to talk trash is on par with some of the best in the history of the business, and he does it while not really saying anything at all.

Most of his promos consist of funny phrases, bad puns and a few insults, but his execution pulls it all together to make for one of the most entertaining entrances in WWE today.

7. The New Day

6 of 12

Every time Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E enter an arena, fans' spirits pick up and it turns into a party.

Their catchy music, ridiculous dance moves and likable personalities have made them one of the most popular acts in WWE, and it all starts with their entrance.

For big events like WrestleMania, The New Day has gone the extra mile to make sure the fans get something they will remember.

As individuals, their entrances were passable, but as a group, they bring fun and joy to everyone watching them perform.

6. Naomi

7 of 12

Naomi was floundering in the women's division for a long time, but ever since she changed her entire look and entrance, she has been a whole new woman.

The use of electronic dance music, neon lights and glow-in-the-dark materials has allowed her to craft one of the most unique entrances in WWE today.

Most of the women in the company have simple entrances, so Naomi stands out from the crowd in a big way. Now all she needs is a good storyline and a shot at the title.

5. Chris Jericho

8 of 12

Chris Jericho has reached the status of living legend in the wrestling business thanks to his incredible talent both in the ring and on the mic, and he has an entrance that is equally entertaining.

When the countdown begins and the lights drop in the arena, you know exactly who is coming through the curtain. As soon as the pyro hits and you see his light-up jacket, it's hard not to get excited.

He has made a few tweaks over the years, but for the most part, Jericho uses the same entrance he has had since he first interrupted The Rock on August 9, 1999.

Jericho's entrance brings together everything WWE has at its disposal to create a great experience for the live crowd and those watching at home.

4. Bray Wyatt

9 of 12

Any entrance that uses the crowd as part of the show is going to make it much easier for the fans to connect with the talent coming down the aisle.

Whenever The Wyatt Family enters an arena, thousands of fans instantly grab their phones and hold them up to illuminate the crowd.

Seeing this on television doesn't do it justice. Experiencing Bray Wyatt's entrance in person is a whole different experience.

When you are live in the crowd, the phones actually make it possible to see the entire arena clearly, whereas on television, it still looks mostly dark.

WWE has missed a lot of opportunities to make Wyatt into a much bigger star than he is, but if he keeps working hard to make his character unique, he can make his way to the top of the ladder.

3. Shinsuke Nakamura

10 of 12

Shinsuke Nakamura's regular entrance would have been enough to get him on this list, but the reason he ended up so high in the ranking is because of what we saw at TakeOver: Brooklyn II.

The simple addition of a classically trained violinist made Nakamura look more like a rock star than a pro wrestler, and it created one of the standout moments the entire night.

Nakamura's natural charisma and showmanship with a live musical performance was the perfect combination to lead him into the match where he would become NXT champion.

We have seen many bands play Superstars to the ring over the years, but there was something about this entrance that was a little more special.

2. Finn Balor as the Demon

11 of 12

Finn Balor has a pretty cool entrance to begin with, but when he turns into The Demon for pay-per-views and special events, nothing compares.

Balor's gimmick is different because he uses the special music and body paint only during big matches instead of using it all the time, which is part of what makes it so much more fun when he comes out looking like Venom from Spider-Man.

Balor was slated for immediate success on the main roster after he became the first universal champion, but an unfortunate injury took him out of action and forced him to relinquish the title.

When he eventually makes his anticipated return, you can bet WWE will create something special for his entrance that night.

1. The Undertaker

12 of 12

When it comes to cool entrances, nobody comes close to The Undertaker. It's so awesome that nobody even cares when it takes him 10 minutes to get to the ring.

Taker has reinvented himself a few times over the years to stay relevant, and that allows him to come up with new ways to make his character special.

His entrance has included enough props over the years to fill a warehouse, and the number of people who have played druids could occupy a small town.

Every year at WrestleMania, fans look forward to seeing what The Deadman and WWE have come up with for his big match, and we are never disappointed.

Who do you think has the coolest entrance in WWE today? Was there someone left off the list you feel should have been included?
