WWE 2K17 Review: Breaking Down DLC Details and Creation Suite

WWE 2K17 offers perhaps the most comprehensive wrestling video game experience of all time based solely on what is available upon buying the game, but there are several additional aspects that enhance the gameplay even more.

A bevy of downloadable content can be purchased in the weeks and months following the game's Oct. 11 release date, while the Creation Suite allows for a ton of customization in terms of created Superstars, shows, arenas, championship belts and more.

With WWE 2K17's release on the horizon, here is a closer look at two of the most exciting aspects the game has to offer.

Latest DLC Info

DLC is a great way to keep video games fresh, and WWE 2K17 is no exception thanks to its highly anticipated package of added content.

WWE 2K17 provided a graphic showing many of its DLC options on Twitter:

Even though WWE 2K17 already has the biggest roster in the history of WWE video games, two Superstar packs will allow players to utilize 10 more characters.

The Future Stars Pack marks the WWE video game debuts of Austin Aries, Mojo Rawley, Tye Dillinger and Karl Anderson, along with the return of Luke Gallows.

Also, the Legends Pack features Eddie Guerrero, Sycho Sid, Greg Valentine, Brutus Beefcake and Tatanka.

According to WWE.2K.com, other DLC is available, including the accelerator, which allows players to gain access to all unlockable content in the game. In addition to that, there is a New Moves Pack to help create even more realistic in-ring action.

The Hall of Fame Showcase adds more replayability to the game as well, with gamers having the ability to play through some of the most famous matches involving the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame class members.

While players can pick and choose which DLC they want, they can save a few bucks by buying it all at once via the Season Pass, which will make DLC instantly available when it is released.

Although there is enough on-disc content to keep gamers occupied with WWE 2K17 for months, the DLC will give the game an even longer shelf life.

Creation Suite Additions

The WWE 2K series has long embraced creativity, and the Creation Suite in WWE 2K17 makes it easier than ever before for gamers to make a WWE Universe that is all their own.

As seen in the following video, WWE 2K17 has made upgrades in essentially every aspect of the Creation Suite:

While Create-a-Superstar, Create-a-Championship, Create-an-Arena and Highlight Reel have all been beefed up, the most notable addition may be to the Create-a-Show feature.

According to WWE.2K.com, gamers can now change the visual filter to create an old-school experience, or to simply match the look of the show to whichever time period they are attempting to replicate:

Created Superstars will be more detailed than ever, and the added textures and options in Create-a-Championship are particularly significant since the real-life brand split.

The WWE Universal Championship and SmackDown Women's and Tag Team Championships aren't included in the game since they were introduced too late, but nearly exact replicas can be made in WWE 2K17, as well as completely original creations.

With several additional pay-per-views being put on by WWE this year too, the Create-an-Arena feature should get plenty of use.

The Creation Suite will let players make as realistic of an experience as they want by copying everything that happens within the real world of WWE, but they can also go completely off the map and make something that nobody else has.

That is the appeal of WWE 2K17's enhanced customization, and it should keep the game at the forefront for a long time to come.
