WWE Raw in Good Hands with Seth Rollins as Top Face

Donald WoodSep 19, 2016

When Seth Rollins came out on Monday’s episode of WWE Raw to save Roman Reigns, he proved that the brand is in good hands with The Architect as its face.

As if getting arguably the biggest pop from the crowd in Memphis, Tennessee, wasn’t enough, Rollins jumping from the top of a steel cage to take down WWE universal champion Kevin Owens and United States champion Rusev cemented his role as the top face of the red brand.

While Rollins should have turned face immediately following his return from a devastating knee injury, the slow turn following the betrayal of Triple H has resulted in a character that still acts heelish in many ways but fights for justice as a good guy.

WWE officials can’t screw this one up, either, as wrestling fans from all walks of life are enjoying Rollins. With a cocky attitude and an in-ring style and skill set that are better suited for a face, Rollins has the overall appeal that makes him mainstream marketable.

Add in the fact that Rollins has history as the WWE world heavyweight champion before the brand split, and he embraces and thrives under the pressure of being the man to carry the brand into the future.

For members of the WWE Universe who watch Raw each week, another positive of the company putting Rollins as its hood ornament is that it will set up several fresh and marquee storylines and feuds that fans can’t wait to sink their teeth into.

From battles with Owens and Chris Jericho to the eventual battle against Triple H, the possibilities with Rollins as a face are immense.

Raw needs Rollins right now more than ever. With the failed Roman Reigns project blowing up in WWE’s face and Finn Balor on the shelf for several months, Rollins has the opportunity to take the No. 1 position on the company’s flagship show and make it something special.

Rollins won’t be able to make Raw a success without the help of WWE Creative—not always a sure bet there—but with the perfect blend of in-ring talent, mic prowess and existing popularity, The Architect is perfect piece to build the Raw brand around moving forward.
