NFL Rumors: Top Trade Buzz Surrounding Mark Sanchez, Darren McFadden and More
With final roster cuts and the start of the 2016 NFL regular season approaching quickly, the trade market is heating up as teams look to make some last-minute improvements in the latter stages of the preseason.
While many of the transactions in the coming days will be made up of releases and other teams signing those released players, the potential for trades is very much present, especially when it comes to some of the bigger names who may not be in line to make the rosters they are currently part of.
Prior to the final cut-down day of the preseason, here is a look at some of the hottest trade rumors surrounding top players potentially available on the market.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Denver Broncos acquired Mark Sanchez this offseason with designs on having him potentially replace Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler as the team's starting quarterback, but his place on the team is now tenuous at best.
An uneven preseason performance caused Sanchez to lose the quarterback competition to little-known Trevor Siemian, and with first-round pick Paxton Lynch on the roster as well, there may not be any room for Sanchez in the Mile High City.
According to Benjamin Allbright of AM 1340 and 104.7 FM in Denver, the Dallas Cowboys are one team that has shown some interest in potentially making a move for Sanchez.
Allbright added, however, that Dallas is unlikely to trade for Sanchez since the expectation is that Denver will release him.
Dallas would be a logical landing spot for Sanchez, as Tony Romo is currently on the shelf with a broken bone in his back.
That has thrust rookie Dak Prescott into a starting role, and while he has looked spectacular during the preseason, the Cowboys need additional insurance since the inexperienced Jameill Showers is the only other healthy signal-caller on the roster.
Sanchez has been the definition of average during his career, with a 37-35 record to go along with 86 touchdowns and 84 interceptions.
The 29-year-old veteran has plenty of experience, though, and he did help lead the New York Jets to consecutive AFC Championship Games, so he has value as a contingency plan at the very least.
Sanchez will catch on elsewhere if Denver does decide to part ways with him, but if it can find a way to recoup the seventh-round pick it traded in order to acquire him, that would undoubtedly be the best method for the defending Super Bowl champions.
Cowboys running back Darren McFadden enjoyed what was by far his best season since 2010 during the 2015 campaign, but the 29-year-old veteran's stay in the Lone Star State may prove to be a short one.
Dallas selected Ezekiel Elliott in the first round of the 2016 NFL draft and signed former Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris, which made the Cowboys backfield a crowded place to be and perhaps left McFadden as the odd man out.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Cowboys have received multiple trade calls for McFadden, although their preference is to keep him despite their considerable depth.
McFadden was excellent behind Dallas' dominant offensive line last season, as he ranked fourth in the NFL with 1,089 rushing yards, averaged 4.6 yards per carry, caught 40 passes for 328 yards and scored three total touchdowns.
The former Arkansas standout spent the first seven seasons of his NFL career with the Oakland Raiders, missing at least three games because of injury in six of those campaigns.
McFadden remained healthy in 2015, but the offseason hasn't been kind to him, as a broken elbow has kept him on the sidelines.
Because of his absence, he may very well have fallen to No. 3 on the team's depth chart, although he might still have a chance to carve out a third-down role thanks to his pass-blocking and pass-catching acumen.
If Dallas doesn't intend on using McFadden with regularity, though, trading him would be a wise move, especially since he is set to become a free agent next offseason and would likely leave with the Cowboys getting nothing in return.
Aaron Dobson
The New England Patriots boast an offense brimming with weapons at the skill positions, and that may lead to wide receiver Aaron Dobson's departure prior to the start of the regular season.
According to Albert Breer of The MMQB, the Pats have been shopping Dobson and are hoping to work out a trade rather than being forced to cut the former Marshall standout.
Dobson was a significant part of New England's offense in 2013 as a rookie, as the former second-round pick caught 37 balls for 519 yards and four touchdowns.
His usage has dropped off since then, though, with just 16 receptions for 179 yards and no touchdowns to his credit in 2014 and 2015 combined.
The Patriots have a surplus of wide receivers on the roster, and Dobson is behind the likes of Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, Keshawn Martin and Chris Hogan at the very least. Add in tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett, and there likely wouldn't be many opportunities for Dobson to make plays within the offense even if he did make the roster.
Dobson is a skilled player who showed some flashes as a rookie, and he still has an opportunity to be an impact player provided he lands with a team that lacks depth at the receiver position.
