Andy BaileyAug 7, 2016

Team USA men's basketball dispatched China on Saturday 119-62, and now it's the women's turn to take the floor in Rio de Janeiro. Maya Moore, Diana Taurasi and Co. are set to take on Senegal during the first game of the day, with plenty of action to come after that.

The big game on the men's side is Croatia vs. Spain, two squads that feature plenty of NBA talent.

Team USA's Debut on the Women's Side

No offense to the Senegalese women, who qualified for these Games by winning AfroBasket Women 2015, but this game is all about Team USA's star-studded squad.

Geno Auriemma's team features four of the WNBA's top five scorers this season: Tina Charles, Elena Delle Donne, Maya Moore and Breanna Stewart. Moore's the only one of that group who stands shorter than 6'4".

With that much size and scoring ability, the USA women will not only cruise through Sunday's action, but much of the tournament as well.

Other women's teams in action Sunday include Serbia, Spain, Australia, Turkey, France and Belarus. Australia and France already have wins under their belts.

Australia cruised past host country Brazil behind 20 points and 13 rebounds from Liz Cambage of the Chinese Women's Basketball League's Zhejiang Golden Bulls. France, which won silver in this tournament in 2012, beat Turkey 55-39.

Is Spain Team USA's Biggest Challenge?

Over on the men's side of the bracket, Pau Gasol and Spain will kick off their 2016 Olympic run against an up-and-coming Croatian team led by Dario Saric, Mario Hezonja and Bojan Bogdanovic.

Historically, Spain has been among Team USA's toughest competition, but it wouldn't be wise to look past Croatia.

Saric, whom the Philadelphia 76ers drafted in 2014, averaged 18.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per 36 minutes for Anadolu Efes last season. He shot 40.3 percent from deep. And at 6'10", he'll provide a tough matchup on the perimeter for Spain.

Hezonja and Bogdanovic, meanwhile, both have experience playing on the NBA wing. Hezonja has shown a knack for making highlight plays on the international stage, and Bogdanovic averaged double figures for the Brooklyn Nets last season.

Still, it's difficult to imagine the rising Croatians taking down an established Spanish team made up almost entirely of current and former NBA players. Gasol, Jose Calderon, Rudy Fernandez and the rest of this team have been playing together for years. Their experience and chemistry will prove to be enough.

More NBA Talent on Display in Brazil vs. Lithuania

Brazil features 2015 NBA champion Leandro Barbosa and 14-year veteran Nene. But the most intriguing player may be Utah Jazz sophomore Raul Neto.

The 24-year-old point guard was second among all NBA rookies in three-point percentage (minimum 100 attempts) in 2015-16. As KSL.com's Andy Larsen pointed out, he's shown moments of brilliance in international play this summer:

For Lithuania, it's all about the NBA-caliber frontcourt of Domantas Sabonis and Jonas Valanciunas.

The 6'10" Sabonis, son of the legendary Arvydas Sabonis, is coming off a sophomore season at Gonzaga in which he averaged 17.6 points and 11.8 rebounds. Valanciunas was ninth in the NBA in total rebounding percentage in 2015-16.

If those two can control the paint, Lithuania will have a good shot at starting the tournament with a win.

One Last Stand for Argentina

Argentina won Olympic gold in 2004 with a roster that featured Manu Ginobili, Luis Scola, Andres Nocioni and Carlos Delfino. Twelve years later, the same four are still leading the way and are a step or two behind Father Time.

Argentina will be OK against a Nigeria team that doesn't have a lot of NBA talent, but deeper in the tournament, it will be difficult to keep pace with the medal contenders.
