Alan Anderson to Clippers: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction
The Los Angeles Clippers and veteran guard Alan Anderson agreed to terms on a contract Tuesday, according to the Orange County Register's Dan Woike.
The Los Angeles Times' Brad Turner confirmed the news and reported Anderson's deal will be worth $1.5 million over one season.
Anderson parlayed two strong seasons with the Brooklyn Nets into a one-year, $4 million contract with the Washington Wizards last summer, but injury woes marred his time in the nation's capital.

The 6'6'' swingman had two surgeries on his left ankle before the season even started, and his debut was delayed until Feb. 24 as a result. All told, Anderson appeared in just 13 games last season.

| 2014-15 | 74 | 7.4 | 2.8 | 44.3 | 34.8 | 10.6 |
| 2015-16 | 13 | 5.0 | 2.1 | 35.6 | 32.4 | 9.2 |
In 14.8 minutes a night, the 33-year-old averaged 5.0 points and 2.1 rebounds while shooting 35.6 percent from the field and 32.4 percent from three.
One disappointing campaign aside, Anderson is a strong veteran minimum signing for a Clippers team that has managed to bolster its depth despite wielding little in the way of cap room, as Woike mentioned:
A shooting guard who can shift over to small forward in smaller alignments, Anderson is a capable off-the-bounce scorer who can also provide head coach Doc Rivers' second unit with some scoring stability in the form of supplementary corner three-point shooting.
The seven-year veteran is a career 37 percent shooter from the corners, and those shots have accounted for 35.3 percent of his total three-point attempts since he entered the NBA.
Signing Anderson also gives the Clippers a fallback option on the wing if Paul Pierce decides to retire. Although the team has Wesley Johnson and Luc Mbah a Moute available at the 3 to help give Rivers some depth, Anderson is more of an offensive-minded threat who can balance out the reserves' offerings.
With regard to Pierce, Turner cited a source on July 26 who said that the future Hall of Famer plans to return for a 19th season. However, a different source informed Turner that Pierce "is still weighing everything and will make a final decision in a few weeks."
