Deshawn Corprew to Texas A&M: Aggies Land 4-Star SF Prospect
Small forward Deshawn Corprew committed to the Texas A&M Aggies on Tuesday, per ESPN.com's Jeff Goodman.
According to 247Sports' composite rankings, Corprew is the No. 22 SF and No. 114 player overall in the 2016 recruiting class. He's also the seventh-best player in Virginia.
Corprew initially committed to Arkansas-Little Rock in September, but in the meantime, not only did his profile on the court grow, but the Trojans also lost head coach Chris Beard to Texas Tech in April. The Aggies then emerged as the favorites to get Corprew's commitment, with six out of the seven experts in 247Sports' "crystal ball" projections forecasting him to land in College Station.

His arrival gives A&M the 18th-best class in 2016, per 247Sports' composite team rankings.
Corprew averaged 15.9 points and 6.1 rebounds a game in AAU ball over the summer, per the official site for the Boo Williams Summer League. He also displayed some nice range, connecting on 19 of his 44 three-point attempts.
Corey Evans of the Roundball Rundown Report believes Corprew will make an impact on the Aggies squad:
Billy Kennedy needed to reload if he hoped to have the Aggies vying for the SEC crown in 2016-17. Three of the team's top four scorers from last year (Danuel House, Jalen Jones and Alex Caruso) are graduating, leaving a major void in the roster.
In addition to Corprew, Kennedy has two more 4-star recruits in his 2016 class: power forward Robert Williams and point guard J.J. Caldwell. CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein also reported on May 5 that J.C. Hampton is transferring to A&M and will be eligible for next year.
Especially at this stage of 2016 recruiting, snagging Corprew is a big move for the Aggies. He should help the team on both ends of the floor as A&M looks to make another deep run in the NCAA tournament.
