Hawes Gives Hornets Reliable Frontcourt Bench Depth
The 28-year-old averaged only 10.6 minutes over the first five games of the Miami series.
There's no denying Hawes' presence helps the Hornets' frontcourt depth and gives Charlotte a big man whose range stretches out to the three-point arc. Frank Kaminsky can do similar things and can function at center or as a stretch 4, but Hawes' experience goes a long way in the postseason.
Throwback center Al Jefferson is a classic low-post player who provides Charlotte with a good changeup to hurl at stud Heat center Hassan Whiteside, and Hawes' ability to shoot outside the paint complements Big Al's skill set.
