WWE NXT: Full Preview, Match Card and More for April 13

The Doctor Chris MuellerApr 12, 2016

It has been a crazy two weeks for both the main roster and the men and women of NXT. We have seen multiple debuts, half a dozen call-ups to the main roster and some incredible action.

The spoiler report had Shinsuke Nakamura listed as competing last week, but WWE opted to save his first appearance on a regular episode of NXT to this week.

He will face Elias Samson, who has been racking up wins over the past few months ever since he was repackaged with a new gimmick. However, his streak looks like it might come to an end Wednesday when he battles The King of Strong Style.

Another Superstar will make his NXT debut this week when Levis "No Way Jose" Valenzuela faces Alexander Wolfe.

It's a little odd for someone to debut during a WrestleMania Axxess event, which is where this episode was taped.

It might give Valenzuela a bit more exposure than if he first appeared during a regular NXT taping, but it could also lead to silence from the crowd since it won't be the usual group of hardcore fans at Full Sail University.

Wolfe has been with WWE since the middle of 2015, but this will be one of the first times the NXT Universe will get to see what the German wrestler is capable of.

On top of those two bouts, the show will also feature a few talents who made the jump to the main roster after WrestleMania.

Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady will face the new NXT tag team champions, Jason Jordan and Chad Gable. Both teams are babyfaces, so it will be interesting to see if the fans side with one over the other.

Apollo Crews will also be in action when he takes on the man who failed to win the NXT Championship at TakeOver: Dallas, Samoa Joe.

Joe will be in a bad mood after losing to Finn Balor, so he will look to make an example out of Crews by getting a decisive win.

As far as the women go, Nia Jax will represent the division this week with a match against Deonna Purrazzo.

Purrazzo is the only person who wrestled for WWE at Axxess who isn't actually signed to a deal. She sort of comes and goes as she is needed, but WWE must see something in her if it booked her at this special event.

Her first match in NXT was against Jax back in November of last year, so she is aware of how intimidating it is to be in the ring with someone like her.

Austin Aries will make his first post-TakeOver appearance when he squares off against Angelo Dawkins in the main event.

Aries is riding a wave of momentum after defeating Baron Corbin, and he will look to build on that momentum with another win against a seasoned NXT talent.

Were Dawkins to pull off the upset, it would give him a huge boost, but Aries is not someone he should take lightly.

We have some great action scheduled for this week's show, but just like last week, WWE may choose to shuffle a few things around. Don't be surprised if one of these bouts is moved to next week's episode.

What are you looking forward to on this week's NXT?
