Dave Bautista's Potential WWE WrestleMania 32 Role Reportedly Revealed

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon reportedly offered Dave Bautista a chance to appear during WrestleMania 32 last Sunday, but he was unable to attend because of filming commitments with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, per Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet.  

According to Satin, McMahon was hoping to use Bautista as one of the returning legends during the segment with The New Day and The League of Nations. Satin didn't clarify whether Bautista would've replaced Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels or Mick Foley:

The former six-time world champion last wrestled in WWE in 2014. After losing in the main event of WrestleMania 30, he, Triple H and Randy Orton reformed Evolution to feud with The Shield over the spring.

The chances Bautista ever returns as an in-ring performer, even on a part-time basis, are slim. In April 2015, he opened the possibility that he'd wrestle at non-televised events, which would provide him with more freedom in the ring (starts around the 2:17 mark):

His acting career isn't slowing down either. He had a supporting role in the James Bond movie Spectre, and according to the Internet Movie Database, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to be released in May 2017. He'll also have a role in an untitled Blade Runner sequel, an announcement he teased last week:

Despite being a major Hollywood star, The Rock still sporadically appears in WWE for WrestleMania and the occasional Raw or pay-per-view event.

If he still has a passion for wrestling, Bautista could have a similar role in the company when his filming schedule allows him the free time.
