McDonald's All-American Game 2016: Results, Highlights and Top Performances
The 2016 McDonald's All-American Game provided fans with everything they could hope for, except defense.
From start to finish, the top high school basketball players in the nation showed what they could do with their impressive athleticism and shot-making ability. The West came out on top with a 114-107 final score, but both sides featured elite talent that will certainly make an impact early on at the college level.
Frank Jackson and Josh Jackson shared the MVP award after each scored a game-high 19 points to go with a handful of highlight plays. Jayson Tatum was the leading scorer for the East team with 18 points, although he shot just 5-of-15 from the field.

The event's official YouTube account provided these highlights to give fans an up close look at some of the best plays of the game:
If you want to see just the co-MVPs in action, Rivals.com has you covered:
Still, the best play of the game probably came from Miles Bridges with a little help from Markelle Fultz on this fast-break dunk:
"MSU fans, meet incoming Spartan Miles Bridges. #sctop10 https://t.co/FF5CvHAamk

Alterique Gilbert showed his hops as well with this dunk:
Beyond just the dunks, here is a look at the players who truly stood out in this All-Star game.
Frank Jackson

Although he has been overshadowed in the recruiting process by fellow Duke commits Tatum and Harry Giles, Jackson arguably had the best week of anyone.
The point guard kicked off the McDonald's All-American festivities by winning the Slam Dunk Contest on this throw down:
Jackson then showcased his shooting ability in the game itself, scoring 19 points while shooting 5-of-7 from three-point range. The rest of the players on both teams combined to shoot just 8-of-41 from beyond the arc with no one else making more than two in the game.
The Blue Devils will be loaded next season, but Jackson will certainly be one of the players making an impact.
Josh Jackson

A lot of eyes were on Jackson this week as the top overall player in the class, according to 247Sports composite rankings. Just as importantly, the guard is still undecided with Michigan State, Arizona and Kansas still in the running.
Everyone who spoke to Jackson during the week was likely looking for some sort of tip toward where he will end up next season. While he hasn't given anything away, he did explain what he is looking for in a program.
"What it's coming down to now is pretty much just being somewhere that I can trust everybody that I'm around," Jackson said during the game, per Kyle Austin of MLive.com. "I want to trust my coaching staff, my teammates, the staff at the school. I think that's going to be the biggest deciding factor in my recruiting."
Also during the game, Jackson showed why he is so heavily sought after with his ability to get to the basket and finish above the rim. He ended the night with 19 points on 9-of-11 shooting while sharing the MVP award in a strong performance.
Lonzo Ball

One of the reasons other players were so successful was the unselfish play of Lonzo Ball. As one of the top point guards in the nation, he chose to show off his distributing ability, scoring zero points but totaling 13 assists and just one turnover in a winning effort.
Ronnie Flores of BallsLife.com noted this put a mark in the record books:
Considering how many great players have taken part in this game, being among the best to do anything is a big accomplishment.
Ball led arguably the top high school team in the country in Chino Hills (Calif.) with his ability to find any open player on the floor. After what he showed against top competition in this one, UCLA is getting quite a floor general.
Bam Adebayo

As far as top contributors from the East team, it's hard to look past Edrice "Bam" Adebayo. The big man was dominant inside and finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds, including eight on the offensive end. He also added a block and two steals for the losing team.
Obviously, this type of exhibition won't feature the best boxing out or any sort of fundamentals, but Adebayo still showcased his strength and motor to tally the only double-double of the night.
The future Kentucky star has a developed offensive game, but remains a load in the post with the size to cause problems for opponents on both ends of the court. He showed flashes of what he could do in this game and clearly has a great career in front of him.
