Lawrence Police Informed Fans They Could Not Arrest Villanova for Beating Kansas

Kyle NewportMar 27, 2016

There was a lot of heartbreak in Lawrence, Kansas, Saturday night, as the Villanova Wildcats upset theย No. 1 overall seed Kansas Jayhawks in the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament in Louisville, Kentucky.

And unfortunately for Jayhawks fans, there was nothing the Lawrence Police Department could do about itโ€”because the "crime" was committed outside of its jurisdiction.

Had the game been played at Allen Fieldhouse, perhaps the police would have been able to step in to prevent the loss from happening. The LPD was instead left powerless, however.

Sorry, Kansas fans.
