Villanova's defense stifled the influence of Perry Ellis in the first half as the Kansas big man was held without a point over the first 20 minutes.
The trend continued in the second half as the Wildcats received great contributions from their role players on both ends of the court.
Frank Mason pulled the Jayhawks within one point with 25 seconds left, but Kansas wouldn't be able to tie the game before the final buzzer sounded.
Villanova closed out the victory with eight straight free throws, four of which came from Ryan Arcidiacono.
The Wildcats will face the No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners in the Final Four on Saturday in Houston.
