Bracketology 2016: Latest Expert Predictions for Top 4 Seeds
Almost all of the conference tournaments are in the books, and the picture of which teams will be the No. 1 seeds is starting to look clearer.
Well, at least clearer than it did earlier in the weekend. Once the Villanova Wildcats lost to the Seton Hall Pirates in the Big East tournament, it looked as if Villanova might be bumped down to a No. 2 seed after what the Oregon Ducks did in the Pac-12 title game.
As it stands, Villanova hasn't been knocked down a peg, and not much else has changed at the top. With Selection Sunday looming, here's a look at who experts think will be the No. 1 seeds in the Big Dance.

Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
Joe Lunardi, ESPN.com
As of 8:15 p.m. ET on Saturday, per ESPN Stats & Info, ESPN's expert bracketologist had the following teams listed as No. 1 seeds:
There are a couple of things to keep in mind here. This was before North Carolina and Virginia tipped off in the ACC championship game, and this was well before Oregon dominated Utah later in the evening. Although this hasn't been updated to reflect those games, Lunardi is adamant that the Wildcats' loss to Seton Hall will surely bump them to a No. 2 spot.
That also means the Michigan State Spartans, if they beat the Purdue Boilermakers in the Big Ten title game, can take the spot of Villanova with a win Sunday.
Virginia's loss to UNC could open the door to Oregon making the jump as one of the top seeds. As for the other two, the Kansas Jayhawks came into postseason play ranked as the nation's top team in the country, so Kansas could be a virtual lock. Lunardi also thinks there's no debate when it comes to the Tar Heels:
Jerry Palm, CBS Sports
Palm's latest bracketology was in the same boat as Lunardi's as of 9 p.m. ET on Saturday, with Villanova hanging onto its first-seed chances until tipoff of the late-night conference title games.
Joining Villanova for the time being are the Jayhawks, Spartans and Cavaliers. Once again, with how the Pac-12 and ACC title games played out, there's a chance Oregon will take one of those spots.
One other aspect that needs to be taken into consideration is the possibility of Michigan State losing. A Purdue victory could also flip the landscape of the tournament. It could mean Villanova gets back as a No. 1 seed, or on a really long shot, the winner of the SEC tournament could take a top seed.
Reactions to Potential No. 1 Seeds
The overall consensus in the Twitterverse is that Oregon deserves to be a No. 1 seed. CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein chimed in with his thoughts:
Utah head coach Larry Krystkowiak also thinks Oregon is worthy of that distinction, per Kyle Goon of the Salt Lake Tribune:
CBS Sports' Matt Norlander thinks the Ducks are deserving, but the past dictates that might not happen:
North Carolina play-by-play announcer Jones Angell believes both the Tar Heels and Virginia deserve one seeds, despite it being highly unlikely:
Predicted No. 1 Seeds
