Elgin Cook led four Oregon players in double figures with 22 points in a wire-to-wire victory over Arizona.

However, the Wildcats didn't make it easy.

Trailing 77-70 with 27 seconds left, they coupled two three-pointers with two Oregon missed free throws to cut the lead to one with less than a second remaining.

Mark Tollefsen then remarkably stole the inbound pass, was fouled at the buzzer but could only make 1-of-2 free throws to send the game to overtime.

Pac-12 Networks shared video of the wild sequence of events:

From there, Oregon used back-to-back three-pointers from Dwayne Benjamin and Dillon Brooks to turn a tie game into an 86-80 lead with 1:59 left. In the end it was just enough to hold off the feisty Wildcats.

Oregon jumped ahead 10-2 and led by 15 at halftime, but the Wildcats never gave in. A three-pointer from Parker Jackson-Cartwright at the 3:27 mark of the second half capped an 18-8 run to cut the Oregon lead to 72-68.

The lead was just four with less than a minute left, when a jumper from Tyler Dorsey with 48 seconds left pushed the lead to six and looked to seal the victory.

Evan Daniels of Scout.com was impressed with Dorsey, who finished with 19 points:

Of course the game was far from over, but the Wildcats comeback came up one missed free throw short.

The Wildcats struggled from the field, shooting just 39.5 percent, while Oregon was efficient at 47.8 percent. Although the Wildcats never got into a rhythm, it did get a double-double (11 points, 12 rebounds ) from Kaleb Tarczewski and 21 points from Gabe York.

Brooks had 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

With the loss Arizona heads home and awaits its NCAA tournament seed, which was at five prior to the loss, according to ESPN.com's Joe Lunardi.

Oregon, on the other hand, still has an outside shot at a No. 1 seed. Lunardi had the Ducks as a two entering the night, but two of his No. 1 seeds (Virginia Cavaliers and North Carolina Tar Heels) play in the ACC championship game on Saturday, and the loser could switch with Oregon should it win the Pac-12 title.

Reaction

Oregon head coach Dana Altman was proud of the way his team didn't fold despite blowing the late lead, per Hayden Kim of the Daily Emerald.

"Most teams don't recover," Altman said. "It's very difficult to recover from that and win a ball game."

But the Ducks did, and Arizona head coach Sean Miller was impressed as well. However, his praise of his opponent was not limited to just Friday night, per Rob Moseley of GoDucks.com.

"Everyone has an opinion, but to me they’re one of college basketball's best teams," Miller said.

Utah 82, California 78 OT

Utah and California played the second overtime game of the night in the Pac-12 with the Utes pulling away in the final seconds with two free throws from Jordan Loveridge to ice the game.

However, it was a coast-to-coast layup from Lorenzo Bonam at the buzzer that sent the game to overtime after Utah trailed by seven with 6:56 to play, via FS1:

Loveridge finished with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds, but he was out-shined by his teammate Jakob Poeltl who had a game-high 29 points and 11 rebounds.

The sophomore celebrated the victory at halfcourt, via FS1:

Jon Rothstein of CBSSports.com compared him to the Golden State Warriors starting center:

Cal had five players in double figures, led by Tyrone Wallace's 26 points and six rebounds. Freshman Jaylen Brown had 12 points, five rebounds and five assists, while fellow freshman Ivan Rabb chipped in 13 points and five rebounds.

Wallace and Co. actually led by four at the half, and pushed the lead to seven but allowed Utah to score 23 points in the final seven minutes to force overtime.

Utah will look for its first win against Oregon in three tries this year when the teams face off for the conference tournament title on Saturday. Seed placement is on the line for both teams who currently have a shot at No. 2, while the Ducks, with some help, could grab a No. 1 seed.

Reaction

The Pac-12 Networks provided an inside look at the Utah looker room after the win:

Cal passed along head coach Cuonzo Martin's postgame media scrum following the narrow loss:

Utes head coach Larry Krystkowiak joked about the team's preparations for Oregon in the final, as noted by Josh Furlong of KSL.

"We've got a great game plan but we're not going to tell you," Krystkowiak said.
