Kevin McRaeMar 11, 2016

No. 7 North Carolina used a 24-0 run that began before halftime and extended into the second half to end Notre Dame's ACC tournament hopes with a 78-47 win on Friday night at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C.

The Tar Heels snapped a three-game losing streak against the Fighting Irish and advance to Saturday night's championship game where they'll await the winner of No. 4 Virginia and No. 11 Miami.

North Carolina (27-6) turned in a dominant defensive performance against one of the nation's best offensive teams that validated many prognostications that rate it as one of the teams to beat once the NCAA tournament kicks off.
