Boston College Senior Fights Emotions, Says Going Out to Eat Was Favorite Memory
When a player's favorite memory from a season or career is "going out to eat," that tells you all you need to know about the state of the team.
For the Boston College Eagles, the 2015-16 season was a year of streaks. And unfortunately for them, it consisted mainly of the wrong type of streak.
BC won its first three games of the season, lost the following six, won the next four and proceeded to lose the final 19 games, all of which were in ACC play.

A 19-game losing streak to wrap up a campaign can be tough for any player to handle, but when it's a senior closing out his career, it's brutal.
After the Eagles finished their 7-25 season by getting routed 88-66 by the Florida State Seminoles in the first round of the ACC tournament, Boston College senior Dennis Clifford was understandably emotional.
When he was asked what his favorite memory of playing basketball for the team was, he—after taking a few seconds—gave just about the most heartbreaking answer imaginable.
"Going out to eat."
Obviously, Clifford was overcome with emotions at the time. But considering his teams went 53-107 during his five years at the school, it was probably tough for him to come up with many good memories from on the court.
The realization that his Eagles career had come to an end just made it an even tougher press conference.
