A few others—namely Colorado, USC and Oregon State—still harbor hopes of earning a berth by winning a couple of games this week.
Finally, the bottom five in this league—Washington, Stanford, UCLA, Arizona State and Washington State—all know they need to win this conference tournament to steal an invitation to the Big Dance.
Arizona, the defending Pac-12 tournament champion, tops the early action on the Pac-12 tournament betting lines at a price of +175. Oregon, which won its last five games to take the regular-season conference title, lurks as the second choice on the board at +350.
The Utes, owners of a seven-game winning streak, stand as the third choice at +360 as they shoot for their first-ever Pac-12 tournament title. And Cal's Golden Bears, winners of eight of their last nine games, round out the top tier on the Pac-12 tournament odds at +400.
Southern Cal, a loser of six of its last eight games, leads off the second tier at +1400. Colorado's Buffaloes, who finished above .500 in conference play at 10-8, come next at +1800. And Washington's Huskies, who also stumbled down the stretch, follow at +2500.
That leaves the Beavers, Cardinal, Bruins, Sun Devils and Cougars as part of the field at a price of +1400.
This Pac-12 tournament begins Wednesday with four first-round matchups, including a UCLA-USC clash to open the evening session. Four quarterfinals follow Thursday, followed by the semifinals Friday night and the tournament championship game Saturday evening.
Five different teams—Arizona, UCLA, Oregon, Colorado and Washington—have won the Pac-12 tournament over the last five seasons.
