Kentucky Fans Chant 'GPA' at LSU's Ben Simmons After Reports of Academic Issues
On Saturday morning, ESPN.com's Jeff Goodman reported LSU Tigers freshman Ben Simmons was not eligible for the Wooden Award for academic-related reasons.
On Saturday afternoon, Kentucky Wildcats fans made sure Simmons knew they were aware of that report when the Tigers played in Lexington.
LSU spokesman Kent Lowe told Goodman that Simmons had not been named a finalist for the award because he did not meet the criteria. Among the academic qualifications: Players must be full-time students and maintain a cumulative 2.00 grade-point average since enrollment.

When Simmons stepped to the free-throw line midway through the first half of Saturday's game, chants of "GPA" rained down. That did not distract the 19-year-old, however. He made both free throws to give the Tigers a 19-18 lead.
