Kansas started in emphatic fashion with a 15-0 run in the first 6:32 of the opening half. By the time Javan Felix scored Texas' first field goal, the life was already sucked out of the crowd in Austin, Texas.
The Jayhawks continued to pour it on in the first half and they went into the locker room with a 24-point advantage. The trend extended into the second stanza as the Jayhawks continued their stellar day from the field and the Longhorns failed to find a rhythm on offense. Kansas shot 64 percent from the field, while Texas shot 30 percent.
Perry Ellis led the charge for Kansas with 20 points, four rebounds and four assists. Landen Lucas had a massive day on defense with eight rebounds and five blocks.
Frank Mason added 14 points, while Devonte Graham contributed 13 in Kansas' 10th win in a row. The victory also helped the Jayhawks' case for the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA men's basketball tournament.
Felix was the only Texas player to reach double digits as he scored 13 points in defeat.
