UNC vs. Notre Dame: Live Score, Highlights and Reaction

The top two teams in the nation were upset Saturday after Notre Dame knocked off No. 2 North Carolina 80-76 in South Bend.

Earlier in the day, Kansas State beat No. 1 Oklahoma 80-69, but the Tar Heels weren't able to take advantage of their opportunity to climb higher in the rankings.

Ice-cold shooting by the Fighting Irish in the first half allowed Carolina to head into the locker room with a 39-30 lead at the game's midway point. But the home team chipped away at the lead with second-chance opportunities, ultimately outrebounding UNC 20-15 on the offensive boards.

All five Notre Dame starters finished the night in double figures, led by Bonzie Colson and Demetrius Jackson with 19 points each. North Carolina enjoyed a breakout game from Marcus Paige, who went 5-of-7 from beyond the arc on his way to a 21-point night, but it wasn't enough for the win.

Notre Dame has now beaten North Carolina the last three times these two teams have met, after winning both of the team's matchups last season.
